Leer Para Crecer

Leer Para Crecer is an early child literacy event put together primarily to reach out to monolingual Spanish speaking parents in order to further engage them in improving their child's literacy skills. Through workshops that are organized by teachers, monolingual Spanish speaking parents obtain skills and strategies that they can implement at home despite language barriers that may exist.

This year's literacy event will be taking place on Saturday, September 27, at O'Hara Park Middle School. Our guest speaker is professional storyteller, Olga Loya. Also available at this year's event, numerous resources like the International Institute of the Bay Area (IIBA), Oakley Library, La Clinica, and Contra Costa Crisis Center, among others. Click here to obtain a flyer of the event or for additional information email, gaby@youmeweoakley.org.
